The juxtaposition of the man made building on top of the natural rock formation can be incredibly alluring and beautiful. Many lighthouses allow you to get as close as you can to view it and feel a kind of magic around them, the close proximity to such rough waves and strong wind is breathtaking. Equally, they look amazing at the approach, their monolithic presence amongst the relaxing waves and rough rock, the sheer majesty of the scene with bright cobalt sky and sapphire sea. Sometimes brightly coloured, sometimes looking as if they have been carved out of the very rock they stand upon.
